Itinera Petri: magnum periculum
Itinera Petri: Magnum Periculum, the second in a series of Latin fantasy novellas for the intermediate level reader explores a new development in the world of Petrus after the revelations of the first book. Having learned that fire was a sign speaking to him and leading him on his life’s path, our hero feels the flames calling to him again. In this 4800 word novella written with 656 high frequency vocabulary words, our hero explores something confusing, threatening and dangerous to the balance of the world, and what he learns could bring the balance of life back home with him. The novella uses information from ancient writers and the Latin lexicon as commentary on this fantasy written for this age of human beings and Latin students. Knowledge of the first book, Itinera Petri: Flammae Ducant, is not required to enjoy this book, and the prologus gives something of a recap of the first. Free preview version located here.
